If it is necessary to thoroughly disassemble a plastic balcony door, as is the case when replacing the seal, work begins by removing the decorative trims. Then, using pliers, remove the pin connecting the frame and sash parts of the upper hinge. The design of the lower loop allows you to tilt the canvas away from the horizontal and move the upper corner outside the box. Now, to remove it from the lower axle, simply lift the doors. It is not recommended to remove glass fragments in the frame - the probability of bending the spacer (distance frame) or cutting yourself is quite high. Only parts that threaten to fall out are removed. Using a knife, wide screwdriver or spatula, remove the glazing beads holding the bag. The blade is driven between the bead and the frame, uniformly widening the gap along the entire length until the lock disengages. It is recommended to start with the side elements. Having freed the glass from the beads, remove the spacer inserts that are pushing it apart, remembering their location. The damaged glass unit is removed from the frame and placed with the broken glass up on the table.

The outer, hardened layer of sealant (polymer or silicone) on the end surfaces of the bag is cut through with a thin sharp knife to the spacer frame. The fragments are quite easily separated from the inner adhesive layer (butyl sealant). Large areas are separated by inserting a knife between the glass and the spacer. Part of the butyl layer and outer sealant are removed from the plane of the spacer frame freed from glass. The cut is made along the bevel of the outer corner of the spacer, covering approximately a third of the width of its plane.
Remove splinters and dust from the bottom glass and, if necessary, wipe clean with newspaper and detergents. The inner surface of the glass being laid is also cleaned and degreased. The edges of the folded glass unit are lightly crimped by hand to adhere the glass to the sticky layer of primary sealant on the spacer. The groove around the perimeter is filled with silicone sealant, trying to use all the previously cut space. It takes 6-8 hours for the silicone to harden at room temperature. 
Of course, most of these manipulations are not required if you buy a ready-made package. As in the case of individual glass, it is better to take measurements for ordering using the existing glass unit. If this is not possible, measure the internal space of the frame and subtract 3-5 mm on each side for frame deformation and thermal expansion. It is better to purchase double-glazed windows from the manufacturer of the installed door or a company that has a good reputation. The new package is installed in the door frame and is expanded with remote plastic inserts.
Installation of glazing beads is carried out in the reverse order - first the short ones, then the long ones.
Steel tools should not be used to press in fragile plastics. A rubber hammer or a wooden block without sharp edges is best suited for such purposes. The blows should be applied quite strongly, sliding the tool along the plane of the glass and evenly passing over the entire surface of the bead until it is completely seated in place. 
Replacement of glass or replacement of sandwich panels is carried out in the same way. The reason for installing plastic may be the presence of a small child in the family, for whom ordinary glass within reach poses a threat, or economic considerations. For the lower part of a PVC balcony door, this is completely justified both aesthetically and practically. The thermal conductivity of the simplest panel filled with polystyrene foam is significantly lower than that of glass, and there is nothing to say about the weight.

Repair of handles and locks

- The scissor-shaped fastening on which the door hinge is held is moved to the side and the old tape is dismantled (the connection point is always at the top).
- Insert a new tape (to avoid mistakes, you must remember the placement of the old seal or be guided by a wider section along the edge of the sheet) without strong tension in the corners.
- After installing the tape, the scissors with the loop are returned to their place, the joint at the top is glued with any rubber or super glue.
- Similarly, remove the old tape from the frame and install a new one in its place with the thick side at the edge; it is also glued in the upper part.
